Placements24 seeks an experienced Project Engineer to manage municipal infrastructure upgrades in Vereeniging, Gauteng. Lead planning, design, and execution of roads, water reticulation, and sewer systems while coordinating with authorities and contractors.

The role requires Pr. Eng. or Tech Eng registration and 6+ years in municipal projects, with strong contract management and site inspection skills. Based in Vereeniging, travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in project engineering focusing on municipal infrastructure.
• Registered with ECSA as Pr. Eng. or Techni Eng.
• Proven contract administration and project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage municipal infrastructure projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors and municipal officials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee tender document preparation including specs, BOMs, and drawings.
• Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with terms.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Review progress reports, payment certificates, and as-built drawings.
• Facilitate project meetings and effective stakeholder communication.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and standards.
