Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer specializing in Production Systems at our Rustenburg facility. This senior role focuses on boosting manufacturing efficiency, workflow design, and plant productivity through Lean and Six Sigma methods, capacity planning, and advanced data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering with focus on production systems in heavy manufacturing or mining equipment.
• Extensive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma expertise; Black Belt certification highly desirable.
• Proven track record in leading complex, large-scale improvement projects; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ERP and MES; ability to work in a demanding plant environment; strong leadership and communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of production systems to optimize workflow, throughput, and efficiency.
• Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing areas.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to identify waste and inefficiencies and drive reductions.
• Oversee capacity planning, line balancing and material flow optimization projects.
• mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
