Placements24 is recruiting a Lead Production Systems Engineer in Rustenburg, North West, South Africa. The role leads a team to design, implement, and continuously improve production systems, ensuring high efficiency, quality, and safety in a mining equipment environment.

You will head projects from concept to completion, supervise engineers and technicians, and drive Lean Six Sigma initiatives to lower costs while boosting output.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years in industrial/manufacturing engineering with leadership experience.
• Proven track record designing and managing complex production systems.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and CI methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to develop and optimize production systems and processes.
• Design, implement, and manage complex manufacturing workflows and equipment installations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain process documentation including P&IDs, flowcharts, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, and quality to ensure efficiency and product integrity.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma to boost productivity and reduce costs.
• Manage capital expenditure projects related to production system upgrades and expansions.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
