Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer in Bloemfontein to lead the design and optimization of production systems. You will analyze current operations, identify improvement opportunities, and implement robust solutions to boost productivity and quality.

The role requires 5–7 years in industrial engineering, with proven lean and Six Sigma experience, and strong data-driven problem-solving. Collaboration across operations, quality and engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with focus on production systems and process optimization.
• Proven experience applying lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in process mapping, Arena, and Minitab.
• Strong analytical and data-driven approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively.
• Eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing layouts, workflows, and material handling systems.
• Conduct detailed analyses of production processes, including time and motion studies.
• Apply lean principles and Six Sigma to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and improvements.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Utilize simulation software to model proposed changes and optimize performance.
• Establish and track KPIs related to production efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
• Research and recommend new technologies or equipment to enhance production capabilities.
• Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
