Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Production Geologist to join the asset management team in Port Elizabeth. The role focuses on optimizing production from mature oil and gas fields by delivering geological expertise, updating models and supporting infill drilling and EOR initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, 7+ years of production geology experience, and proficiency with Petrel/GeoGraphix. A hybrid work arrangement is offered in Port Elizabeth.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Geology or related Earth Science discipline.
At least 7 years of experience in Production Geology or related Oil & Gas roles.
Experience with reservoir characterization and depositional environments.
Proficiency with geological workstation software (Petrel, GeoGraphix) and data analysis techniques.
Strong communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary teams in Port Elizabeth.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze production data with geological models to assess reservoir performance.
Update and refine geological models using well logs, core data and production data.
Identify opportunities for infill drilling, workovers and EOR projects.
Collaborate with reservoir engineers, production engineers and geophysicists on field development plans.
Prepare technical reports, presentations and recommendations for management and partners.
Provide geological input for well planning, including target definition and lithological prognoses.
