Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Petroleum Engineer in Port Elizabeth to optimize production and maximize recovery from existing fields. The role blends field interaction with office analysis and requires deep know-how in artificial lift and EOR strategies.

You will analyze performance, propose improvements, perform economic evaluations, and collaborate with reservoir, geology and operations teams to deliver value in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in production operations and optimization.
• Experience with artificial lift systems and production forecasting.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze well performance data to identify opportunities for artificial lift optimization, workovers, and recompletions.
• Develop and implement strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) where applicable.
• Monitor production facilities and recommend operational adjustments to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Conduct economic evaluations for production enhancement projects and justify capital expenditures.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geologists, and operations teams to ensure integrated field management.
• Troubleshoot production-related issues and provide technical support to field operations personnel.
