Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Lead Petroleum Engineer to join our client’s team in Port Elizabeth. The role leads a production engineering team, optimizes field performance, and guides long-term production strategies while upholding safety and environmental standards.

You will manage artificial lift system design, perform decline curve analyses and economic evaluations, and collaborate with reservoir, drilling and operations teams to maximize asset value and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in production and operations engineering within the energy sector.
• Proven experience in artificial lift systems and production optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute production optimization strategies for multiple fields.
• Perform decline curve analysis, production forecasting, and economic evaluations.
• Oversee artificial lift system design, installation, and performance monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, and operations teams for integrated field management.
