Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Production Geologist to join the operational team in Kimberley, South Africa. You will integrate production data with geological models to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and support development strategies, with a mix of office work and potential field visits.

The role requires a Master's in Geology, 7+ years in production geology, and expertise in modeling and interpretation tools.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Geology or related earth science.
7+ years of production geology experience, focusing on mature fields.
Proficiency with geological modeling software and petrophysical interpretation.
Strong reservoir characterization and production logging knowledge.
Experience integrating production data into geological models.
Excellent communication and teamwork for a hybrid Kimberley role.

Responsibilities

Integrate production data, logs, core data, and seismic information to characterize reservoirs.
Develop and maintain 3D geological models of producing fields with focus on heterogeneity and fluid distribution.
Analyze production trends to identify intervention opportunities (workovers, infill drilling).
Collaborate with reservoir and production engineers to optimize field development and production strategies.
Prepare geological reports and presentations for management highlighting reservoir characteristics and enhancement recommendations.
Provide geological support for field operations and well planning on existing fields.
