Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer for a fully remote role supporting operations potentially linked to Richards Bay. You will develop and manage process safety programs, lead PHAs, conduct incident investigations, and ensure compliance with national and international standards while collaborating with engineering and operations teams remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably in chemical/petrochemical industries.
• Strong knowledge of PSM elements: PHA, MOC, PSSR, Mechanical Integrity.
• Experience with consequence modeling software PHAST, SAFETI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA.
• Perform incident investigations, RCAs, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain safety procedures, training materials, and emergency response plans.
• Ensure compliance with national and international process safety regulations and standards.
• Provide expert guidance and technical support on process safety matters to remote teams.
