Job summary

Aeciminingchemicals in Sasolburg seeks a seasoned Chemical Process Engineer to design, optimize, monitor, and improve manufacturing processes ensuring safe, cost-effective, and quality production operations. You will lead process improvement, investigate incidents, and drive RCA and SPC programs.

Responsibilities include performance analysis, OEE tracking, PSM activities (HAZOPs, PHAs, MOCs), and collaboration with maintenance to enhance equipment reliability and safety across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a chemical manufacturing or process plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse process performance to improve yield, throughput, efficiency, and quality.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce costs, minimise waste.
• Troubleshoot plant, process, product quality and process safety issues; lead investigations and CAPA.
• Track and improve OEE performance across manufacturing assets.
• Lead PSM activities including HAZOPs, PHAs, MOCs, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety and quality standards.
• Participate in plant start-ups, shutdowns, commissioning, and equipment/process optimisations.
• Collaborate with maintenance to improve equipment performance and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Lead or support capital projects and plant modifications, including schedules and costs.
• Prepare and maintain process designs, mass balances, PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, and engineering documents.
• Conduct technical evaluations of equipment, technologies and process improvements.
