Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer in Gauteng to lead design, optimization and safety-focused operation of oil & gas facilities. The role demands strong leadership, deep process engineering expertise, and mentorship of junior engineers.

You will drive feasibility studies, simulations, P&ID development, and capital-project delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance and industry best practices. A master’s degree and Pr Eng are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• 8+ years in process engineering within Oil & Gas.
• Experience with Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II.
• Proficient in P&ID development and HAZOP studies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Pr Eng or equivalent preferred.
• Eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize process designs for oil & gas facilities.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and performance analyses.
• Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and process flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and project teams.
• Provide mentorship to junior process engineers.
• Troubleshoot and implement solutions for operations.
• Manage process engineering aspects of capital projects end-to-end.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies.
