Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer in Gauteng to lead design, optimization and safety-focused operation of oil & gas facilities. The role demands strong leadership, deep process engineering expertise, and mentorship of junior engineers.

You will drive feasibility studies, simulations, P&ID development, and capital-project delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance and industry best practices. A master’s degree and Pr Eng are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• 8+ years in process engineering within Oil & Gas.
• Experience with Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II.
• Proficient in P&ID development and HAZOP studies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Pr Eng or equivalent preferred.
• Eligible to work in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize process designs for new and existing oil and gas facilities.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and performance analyses to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and process flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project management.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior process engineers.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Manage process engineering aspects of capital projects from conception to completion.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in process engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong understanding of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Proficiency in P&ID development and HAZOP studies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience in project management is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations specific to the Oil & Gas sector.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa .
