Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Engineer to join our client's oil & gas operations in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will spearhead design, development, and optimization of process plants, while guiding a team of engineers to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performance facilities.

The role requires 10+ years in process engineering within oil & gas, strong simulation skills (HYSYS/Aspen Plus), and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas (upstream and downstream).
• Experience leading engineering teams on projects.
• Expertise in process simulation, design, troubleshooting, and safety.
• Strong knowledge of equipment design and selection.

Responsabilités

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and optimization of process plants and systems.
• Develop and review PFDs and P&IDs.
• Perform process simulations and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Specify process equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and vessels.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP studies and ensure implementation of safety recommendations.
• Oversee the commissioning and start-up of new process units and modifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior process engineers.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project management, and operations teams.
• Ensure all designs and operations comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
