Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer to join our client in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa. The role focuses on optimizing chemical manufacturing processes, developing new strategies, and ensuring safe, high‑quality output.

The ideal candidate has a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering with 6+ years’ experience, strong process simulation, scale‑up, and problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in process engineering in chemical manufacturing.
• Experience with process simulation, scale-up, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of unit operations, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing chemical processes to improve efficiency, yield, and cost.
• Develop process modifications and new technologies to enhance production.
• Perform PHAs and implement safety measures for compliance.
• Design, supervise, and validate pilot plant and full-scale runs.
• Collaborate with operations, R&D, and maintenance to troubleshoot and implement sustainable solutions.
