Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join a client in Port Elizabeth, specializing in chemical manufacturing. You will lead design, optimization, and troubleshooting of processes to improve efficiency, yield, and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and at least 6 years of experience, with expertise in process simulation (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and risk assessments (HAZOP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in chemical process engineering.
• Strong knowledge of reactions, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer.
• Experience with process simulation software and CAD tools.
• Familiarity with safety protocols (HAZOP) and environmental compliance.
• Excellent analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Conduct process simulations, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement SOPs and ensure safety/environmental compliance.
• Lead process improvement projects using Lean or Six Sigma.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, and maintenance teams for seamless operations.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment to enhance capabilities.
