Placements24 invites a Process Design Chemical Engineer to join their engineering and project execution team in Port Elizabeth. You will develop conceptual and detailed designs for chemical processes, perform simulations, select equipment, and contribute from feasibility to detailed engineering stages.

Ideal candidates hold a Chemical Engineering degree with 6+ years in process design, have strong problem-solving and communication skills, and are proficient in Aspen HYSYS/PRO/II and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in process design and engineering for the chemical industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and CAD tools.
• Experience in technical reviews and P&ID walk-downs.

Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs and P&IDs for new plants and modifications.
• Run process simulations and calculations for sizing and conditions.
• Select reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers per design needs.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for designs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers.
• Ensure designs meet standards, safety, and environmental regs.
