Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialization.
Minimum of 12 years in electrical power systems design/engineering.
Pr. Eng. registration is mandatory.
Experience as Principal Engineer or lead designer on large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design of power systems including substations, transmission, and networks.
Develop detailed designs, calculations, and drawings with industry software.
Perform feasibility studies, load flow, short-circuit, and protection studies.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
Oversee procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/SANS standards.
Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
Conduct design reviews and risk assessments.
Stay current with power engineering advancements.
