Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of power systems for major infrastructure and industrial projects in Sandton, Gauteng. You will oversee electrical designs, ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with standards, and mentor engineering staff.

The role requires a Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA and a minimum of 9 years in electrical power systems, with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 9 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems engineering, with emphasis on distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of electrical power systems and distribution networks.
• Perform power system analysis: load flow, short circuit, stability studies.
• Specify transformers, switchgear, generators, and cables.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, IEC standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
• Conduct site inspections and support construction.
