Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Power Systems Electrical Engineer for on-site work in Mahikeng. The role focuses on planning, analysis, and operation of generation, transmission, and distribution networks to ensure stability and efficiency of regional power infrastructure.

The candidate will perform studies, design substations, develop protection schemes, and collaborate with utilities to deliver critical infrastructure projects in the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in power system engineering.
Experience with national/international standards for power system design and operation.

Responsibilities

Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
Design and specify electrical equipment for substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
Develop protection schemes and coordinate relays for safe operation.
Troubleshoot disturbances and enhance grid reliability.
Collaborate with grid operators, utilities, and stakeholders.
