Job summary
Placements24 seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer specialized in Grid Stability to join their Centurion, Gauteng operations. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that secure the stability of the power grid and prevent outages, with on-site responsibilities in a key Gauteng hub.
The candidate will perform load flow studies, fault analysis, and oversee grid protection equipment installation and commissioning, collaborating with operations and maintenance teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in power systems engineering with a focus on grid stability and protection.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software such as PSS/E and ETAP and related simulation tools.
- Knowledge of power system protection relays, switchgear, and substation equipment.
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience in a South African power utility environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions to enhance grid stability and reliability.
- Conduct load flow studies, fault analysis, and stability assessments using specialized software.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of grid protection systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with network operations and maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve grid issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for the Centurion facility.
