Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a highly experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our client\'s team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will lead analysis, design, and optimization of complex power systems, impacting generation, transmission, and distribution projects critical to the region\'s infrastructure.

This role requires a Master\'s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) and 8+ years of experience, with proficiency in PSS/E, ETAP, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience focusing on power system analysis, design, and operation.
• Strong understanding of grid codes, protection relays, and power system stability principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed power flow studies, short-circuit analysis, and transient stability assessments.
• Design and specify high-voltage equipment, protection schemes, and control systems for substations and transmission lines.
• Develop strategies for grid integration, load forecasting, and power system planning.
• Oversee the testing and commissioning of power system components and installations.
• Collaborate with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in the power systems discipline.
