Placements24 in Kimberley, Northern Cape, is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer specialising in grid integration for energy projects. You will perform power system studies, develop protection schemes, and ensure compliance with grid codes for safe interconnection of renewables.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in grid integration, and proficiency with PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on grid integration and power system studies.
Proficiency in power system analysis software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
Strong understanding of power system protection, fault analysis, and grid codes.

Responsibilities

Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analyses for grid connection applications.
Develop and review protection schemes and settings for generators, substations, and transmission lines.
Ensure compliance with Eskom's grid codes, relevant standards, and interconnection agreements.
Collaborate with project developers, grid operators, and equipment suppliers on technical requirements for grid integration.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and proposals related to grid connection studies.
Troubleshoot issues related to power quality, grid stability, and interconnection performance.
