Placements24 in Welkom is seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to contribute to energy solutions. You will design, analyze, and optimize electrical power systems for grid infrastructure and renewable integration.

The role requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) and at least 6 years in power system analysis, with proficiency in PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD. You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating with project teams to deliver reliable power networks.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in power system analysis and design.
Proficiency in power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
In-depth knowledge of grid codes, protection schemes, and renewable energy integration technologies.

Responsibilities

Analyze and model complex power systems using specialized software for stability, load flow, and short-circuit studies.
Design and specify electrical components for power generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
Develop and implement strategies for enhancing power system reliability and efficiency.
Conduct power quality assessments and recommend solutions to mitigate disturbances.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure electrical designs meet technical requirements and safety standards.
