Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems for our client in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The role focuses on design, analysis, and implementation of complex electrical power systems for infrastructure and industrial projects.

You will lead teams, mentor engineers, and liaise with utilities and regulators to ensure robust, reliable power solutions while coordinating with site activities in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialization.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in electrical power systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of electrical power systems for industrial, commercial, and utility-scale projects.
• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and arc-flash analysis using industry-standard software.
• Develop protection schemes and coordinate relays for various power system components.
• Design electrical distribution systems, substations, and renewable energy integration solutions.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, single-line diagrams, and schematics.
• Mentor junior engineers and liaise with clients, utilities, and regulators to meet project requirements.
