Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in power distribution to join our client team in Stellenbosch. You will design, implement, and maintain reliable distribution networks for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, contributing to local energy resilience.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus and at least five years of relevant experience, plus proficiency with ETAP or PSS/E and knowledge of SA electrical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Strong understanding of distribution system design, operation, and protection principles.
• Proficiency with ETAP or PSS/E for power system analysis.
• Knowledge of South African electrical standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and engineer electrical distribution systems including substations and networks.
• Conduct load flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination for distribution systems.
• Oversee construction, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical distribution assets.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to power distribution equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with field crews, contractors, and other departments to ensure project delivery.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings for distribution projects.
