Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead analysis, design and implementation of complex power systems in Stellenbosch, focusing on grid reliability, renewable integration and optimized power flow.

You will mentor junior engineers, guide grid modernization projects, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop long‑term expansion plans while ensuring adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in power system analysis and design.
• Expertise with PSS/E, ETAP or DigSILENT PowerFactory.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced power system studies including load flow and short circuit analysis.
• Design and specify transformers, switchgear, generators, and transmission lines.
• Develop strategies for integrating renewable energy sources and energy storage into the grid.
• Lead grid modernization projects and ensure industry standard compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with stakeholders on expansion plans.
