Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems analysis and design.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software (PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• In-depth knowledge of power system equipment, grid operations, and protection principles.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct power system studies including load flow, short circuit, stability, and transient analysis.
• Develop and optimize protection schemes and coordination studies.
• Assist in design and planning of new substations, transmission, and distribution lines.
• Evaluate impact of new generation sources, including renewables, on the grid.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations for grid upgrades and expansions.
• Analyze grid performance data to identify reliability and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, asset management, and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines for power system design and operation.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
