Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Master's degree is an advantage.
• 7–10 years of experience in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Proven experience in designing and managing distribution projects.
• Familiarity with SA electrical standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee electrical distribution systems including substations, overhead lines, and cables.
• Conduct power system studies: load flow, fault analysis, and stability for distribution networks.
• Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, relays).
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for distribution upgrades and new builds.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OHS Act) and utility specs.
• Investigate faults and operational issues; mentor junior engineers.
• Review and approve engineering designs and calculations.
• Stay updated on grid technologies and distribution advances.
