About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Mining Surveyor to oversee and execute all surveying activities for their operations in Randburg . This role is crucial for accurately mapping the mine environment, monitoring excavation progress, and ensuring compliance with spatial data requirements for both surface and underground operations. You will lead a team of surveyors, utilize advanced surveying technologies, and ensure the integrity of spatial data used for planning, production, and reporting. This position offers a significant opportunity to shape the spatial management of a key mining asset in the Gauteng province.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct high-precision surveys for mine planning, development, and production monitoring (surface and underground).
• Utilize advanced surveying instruments and technologies, including total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and drones.
• Process and analyze survey data, creating accurate 2D and 3D models of the mine workings.
• Manage and maintain survey databases and ensure the integrity of spatial information.
• Supervise and train junior surveyors and survey assistants.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory surveying requirements for mining operations.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Registered Professional Mine Surveyor (Pr.Surv) with the South African Geomatics Council.
• Minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in mine surveying, covering both surface and underground environments.
