About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and authoritative Chief Mine Surveyor to lead their surveying department in Randburg . This senior, on-site position requires exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of all facets of mine surveying, from surface operations to complex underground environments. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the survey function, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all projects. This is a key leadership role with significant responsibility, offering the opportunity to shape the surveying practices of a major mining entity and ensure the precise spatial definition of all mining activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and management for the entire mine surveying function, including team development and resource allocation.
• Establish and enforce rigorous standards for all survey data acquisition, processing, and reporting.

• Ensure compliance with all national and international regulations pertaining to mine surveying and spatial data management.

Requirements

• Professional Land Surveyor qualification and registration with a relevant professional body.
• A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in mine surveying, with significant leadership responsibilities.
• Expert knowledge of both surface and underground surveying techniques, including modern geodetic and photogrammetric methods.
• Extensive experience with leading survey software suites and hardware (e.g., Leica, Trimble, 3D modeling).
• Proven track record in managing large-scale survey projects and complex datasets.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
