Placements24 seeks a qualified Mine Surveyor to support surface mining operations in Vereeniging. You’ll measure, map, and monitor the mine site, ensuring adherence to design plans and regulatory requirements.

This role requires precision and strong surveying knowledge within a mining context. You will collaborate with mine planning, engineering, and production teams to deliver accurate spatial data for planning and safe operations.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, with a focus on surface mining.
• Proficiency with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, or similar.
• Experience with various surveying instruments and data processing techniques.
• Knowledge of South African mining surveying regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and volume calculations for surface mining operations.
• Utilize surveying equipment and software, including total stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners.
• Prepare and maintain mine plans, maps, and survey records.
• Monitor mine progression and provide data for volumetric analysis and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with legal and statutory survey requirements for mining operations.
• Collaborate with engineering and geology departments to provide spatial data for planning and operations.
