Placements24 is seeking a Principal Recruitment Consultant to lead its Mining & Resources practice in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This senior, office-based role involves driving client acquisition, managing complex recruitment projects, and mentoring a team of consultants.

The ideal candidate has extensive mining sector experience, a strong network with major mining companies, and a proven track record in delivering executive search and niche technical placements within the resources sector.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of recruitment consultancy experience with Mining & Resources specialization.
• Proven track record in placing senior-level and niche technical roles.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, engineering disciplines and technologies.
• Experience in business development and client relationship management within the resources sector.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using ATS and other recruitment technologies.
• Office-based role in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.
• A relevant degree or professional qualification in Mining Engineering, Business, or related field is highly desirable.
• Commitment to high ethical standards and professional integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end recruitment for key mining & resources roles, from exploration to engineering.
• Develop sourcing strategies to attract scarce talent for mining operations.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with major mining companies.
• Conduct candidate assessments, including technical interviews and competency evaluations.
• Drive business development and secure new client mandates.
• Provide market insights and advisory services on talent management and workforce planning.
• Mentor junior consultants and foster high performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences and events.
• Manage client expectations and ensure service delivery excellence.
