Placements24 in Durban is seeking a Principal Recruitment Consultant to lead the Mining & Resources practice. This senior role requires deep sector knowledge and a track record of managing complex executive search assignments within South Africa.

Based in Durban with a hybrid work arrangement, you will mentor junior consultants, develop strategic client partnerships, and drive business development to expand market share in KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of recruitment experience with a strong Mining & Resources focus.
• Experience filling senior roles such as Mine Manager, Geologist, Metallurgist, Engineers and executives.
• Deep knowledge of the South African mining landscape and key players.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end recruitment assignments for senior technical, operational and executive roles.
• Develop strategic client partnerships and expand the KwaZulu-Natal and SA footprint.
• Proactively source and engage niche passive candidates using advanced search techniques.
• Assess candidates with technical and behavioural interviews to ensure best fit.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team development.
• Drive business development to secure new mandates and grow market share.
