Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Recruitment Specialist in Durban to lead a high-performance team focused on mining and engineering sectors. You will drive business development initiatives, manage senior-level placements, and ensure top-tier service delivery across South Africa.

You will oversee complex projects, analyze talent landscapes, and build long-term client relationships while ensuring compliance with recruitment regulations and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in recruitment, with focus on Mining/Engineering sectors
• Leadership or team management experience
• Proven track record in business development and client management
• Deep understanding of Mining/Engineering talent landscape in KwaZulu-Natal and nationally
• Exceptional negotiation, communication and influencing skills
• Experience with advanced recruitment methodologies and ATS platforms
• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., B.Com, B.Eng, HR-related) desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of recruitment consultants
• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to acquire new clients in Mining and Engineering
• Oversee complex recruitment projects for senior and specialist roles
• Conduct market analysis to identify talent pools and industry trends
• Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders within client organizations
• Ensure compliance with recruitment legislation and ethical standards
• Contribute to innovative recruitment strategies and tools
• Represent the client at industry events in Durban
