Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for Klerksdorp operations in the North West province. You will lead mine design, planning and production optimization across underground and open-pit environments, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective plans aligned with regulatory requirements.

The role requires a BEng or BSc in Mining Engineering, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan and Surpac. Professional registration with ECSA is expected.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Mining Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and operations.
• Proficiency in mining design software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement short-term and long-term mine plans and schedules.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and economic analyses for new mining projects.
• Apply principles of rock mechanics and mine design to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Monitor and control production activities, providing technical guidance to mine supervisors and operators.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
