Job summary
Placements24 seeks a Senior Mining Engineer to lead underground and surface mine design and planning in Randburg. You will drive optimization of mine layouts, sequencing and equipment utilization, collaborating with geology, operations and technical services to deliver safe, efficient plans from concept to execution.
The role requires 8+ years in mine design and strong proficiency with Deswik/Vulcan, with an emphasis on safety, environmental compliance and team leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in mine design, planning and operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and communicate with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and manage short-term and long-term mine designs and production plans.
- Utilize Deswik and Vulcan to optimize layouts, sequencing and equipment use.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects and expansions.
- Collaborate with geology and operations to integrate resource models into plans.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations in design.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
