Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer for our mining client in Benoni, Gauteng. The role focuses on optimizing mineral processing to improve recovery, reduce costs, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

You will analyze operations, design flowsheet modifications, run pilot plant trials, and mentor junior engineers. A strong background in metallurgy or chemical engineering and solid reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in chemical/metallurgical/mining with a strong process focus.
• Master's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mineral processing operations to identify efficiency, yield, and cost improvements.
• Design and implement process flowsheet modifications and optimization strategies.
• Conduct pilot plant trials and scale-up studies for new or improved processes.
• Monitor KPIs and troubleshoot operational issues; prepare technical reports and feasibility studies.
• Mentor junior process engineers and provide technical guidance.
