Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mineral Processing Engineer to join a mining and minerals processing team in Paarl, Western Cape. You will optimize grinding, flotation, and dewatering circuits to maximize recovery while minimizing environmental impact.

The role requires a BSc/BEng in mineral processing or related fields and at least 7 years of progressive experience. You will mentor junior staff, develop control strategies, and contribute to new processing technologies in a dynamic site

Qualifications

Strong background in mineral processing and operating knowledge of grinding, flotation, and dewatering.
Proven ability to optimize recovery and throughput while maintaining product quality.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize plant performance in grinding, flotation, and dewatering.
Troubleshoot problems and implement solutions to improve recovery and throughput.
Conduct test work and pilot studies to evaluate new process technologies.
Develop and implement process control strategies for stable operation.
Collaborate with operators, maintenance staff, and metallurgists to implement changes.
Prepare technical reports and presentations on process performance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Assist in design and commissioning of new processing equipment.
Mentor junior engineers and provide site guidance.
Stay updated on advancements in mineral processing technology.
