Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Process Engineer specialized in mineral processing to join our Randburg team. You will optimize efficiency, yield and cost-effectiveness of mineral extraction and processing plants, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

You will work with site operations and maintenance teams to ensure peak plant performance and drive operational excellence within the South African mining landscape, with

Qualifications

Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing.
Proven experience with process simulation software (MetSim, HSC Chemistry) and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize mineral processing circuits to improve recovery and product quality.
Troubleshoot operational problems and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Design and oversee process modifications and upgrades.
Conduct performance testing and data analysis for unit operations (e.g., comminution, flotation, leaching).
Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and P&IDs.
