Placements24 is seeking a Senior Ventilation Engineer to lead mine ventilation programs in Randburg, Gauteng. You will design, implement and optimize ventilation systems that ensure safe airflow, temperature control and air quality for underground operations.

The role requires a strong background in mine thermodynamics, dust control and cooling strategies, with experience using Ventsim or similar tools. Strong collaboration with planning and operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering with ventilation specialization.
• Minimum 7 years in mine ventilation engineering, underground preferred.
• Proficient in ventilation modeling software.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage mine ventilation to ensure airflow and air quality.
• Conduct regular ventilation surveys and gas monitoring.
• Develop strategies for dust suppression and cooling.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with planning and design teams to integrate ventilation into new developments.
• Prepare detailed ventilation reports and recommendations.
