The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering with a ventilation focus, at least 4 years' experience, and proficiency with Ventsim or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with ventilation specialization.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in mine ventilation engineering.
• Proficiency with ventilation survey tools (Ventsim, GASSIM) and data analysis.
• Knowledge of SA mining legislation and ventilation standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in underground mining is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ventilation surveys including airflow measurements.
• Analyze ventilation networks to identify improvements.
• Assist in design and specification of fans, ducts, and auxiliary ventilation.
• Monitor thermal environments and heat management strategies.
• Ensure compliance with mine health and safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports on ventilation performance.
• Collaborate with planning and operations to integrate ventilation.
• Maintain records of surveys, equipment performance, and compliance.
• Support adoption of new ventilation technologies.
