Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to support mining operations in Sandton with a hybrid work setup. You will establish and maintain survey control, monitor mine workings, and prepare precise survey plans for planning and safety.

The role requires advanced surveying skills, proficiency with modern survey technology, and a deep understanding of mining regulations. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of Mine Surveying experience in underground and open-pit environments,

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years experience as a Mine Surveyor in underground and open-pit environments.
• Proficiency with survey data processing software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, mining survey packages).
• Experience with 3D laser scanning, drone surveying, and other modern survey technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of mine survey principles, regulations, and standards.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain survey control networks for surface and underground operations.
• Conduct regular surveys of mine workings, excavations, and stockpiles for volumetric calculations and progress monitoring.
• Prepare detailed survey plans, sections, and long-sections of mine infrastructure and deposits.
• Utilize total stations, laser scanners, GPS/GNSS and software for data acquisition and processing.
• Collaborate with mine engineers, geologists, and management for spatial data in planning and decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with surveying standards, regulations, and best practices in mining.
