Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor to support mining operations near Cape Town. The role involves defining mine boundaries, mapping underground and open-pit workings, and ensuring regulatory compliance with advanced surveying tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Surveying or related geospatial field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, underground/open-pit preferred.
• Proficiency with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MinePlan.
• Experience with total station and GPS surveying techniques.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in physically demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise surveys of underground and surface mining operations, including setting out workings and monitoring ground movement.
• Prepare and maintain detailed mine plans, cross-sections, and topographical maps using specialized software.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and laser scanners.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards during survey activities.
• Collaborate with geologists and engineers to provide accurate spatial information for planning and operations.
