Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Surveyor in East London, Eastern Cape, ZA to enhance survey and spatial data management. You will oversee high-precision surveys across exploration, development, and operations, using total stations, GPS/GNSS, laser scanners, and drones.

Lead and mentor survey teams while integrating data with geological and mine planning software. The role requires 5–7 years of mine surveying, professional registration, and strong geodetic knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying/Geomatics.
• Professional registration with a surveying body (e.g., PLATO).
• 5-7 years of mine surveying experience, preferably East London area.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, Trimble Business Center, Surpac.
• Experience with 3D laser scanning, drone surveying and GIS.
• Solid understanding of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
• Strong data processing, analysis, and visualization skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Our client, a significant operator within the Mining sector, is seeking an experienced and meticulous Senior Mine Surveyor to enhance their survey and spatial data management capabilities in East London, Eastern Cape, ZA . This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy of geological models, mine plans, and operational progress tracking. The Senior Mine Surveyor will be responsible for implementing and overseeing advanced surveying techniques, managing survey data, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Process, analyze, and interpret survey data to create accurate digital models and maps.
