Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join its Centurion operations team. The role focuses on developing and optimizing short-term and long-term mining plans to maximize resource recovery while maintaining safety.

You will collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and production managers to translate strategic objectives into actionable schedules, drawing on Deswik or MineSight. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mine planning/design and a strong understanding of mining

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
10+ years in mine planning and design, open-pit or underground.
Proficient with Deswik, MineSight or similar planning tools.
Strong understanding of mining economics, geology and operations.
Analytical with strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading project teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term mine plans and schedules.
Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects and expansions.
Optimize mine layout, production sequences, and equipment utilization.
Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to ensure mine stability and safety standards are met.
Analyze production data and propose adjustments to plans to achieve operational targets.
Prepare technical documentation and present mine plans to management and stakeholders.
