Placements24 seeks a Mine Planning Engineer for a strategic role based in Mahikeng. You will design and optimize mine layouts, production schedules, and resource utilization, collaborating with geology, survey, and operations to deliver safe, efficient mining plans.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, expertise in mine planning software, and a solid understanding of mining economics to drive productivity in a dynamic North West mining operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac or similar.
• Strong understanding of geological modeling, surveying principles, and mining economics.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed short-term and long-term mine plans, including production schedules, stope designs, and pit outlines.
• Optimize mine layouts and extraction sequences to maximize ore recovery and minimize costs.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects and mine expansions.
• Collaborate with geologists to interpret resource models and translate them into practical mining plans.
• Work with operations teams to ensure plans are implemented safely and efficiently.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate mine plans to stakeholders.
