About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Mine Planner to contribute to their strategic development and operational execution in Mahikeng . This role is fundamental to optimizing resource extraction and ensuring the long-term viability of the mining operation. You will be responsible for developing short-term and long-term mine plans, incorporating geological data, production targets, and cost considerations. The ideal candidate possesses advanced skills in mine planning software, a deep understanding of mining engineering principles, and a proven ability to translate complex geological models into practical, executable mine plans that drive efficiency and profitability in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize short-term (e.g., weekly, monthly) and long-term (e.g., 5-year) mine plans.
• Utilize advanced mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) for design and scheduling.
• Collaborate closely with geologists to interpret resource models and integrate them into mine plans.
• Ensure plans are technically sound, economically viable, and compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
• Monitor progress against plans, analyze deviations, and recommend adjustments.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mine planners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mine planning and design for open-pit or underground operations.
• Expertise in using industry-standard mine planning and scheduling software.
• Strong understanding of geological modeling, reserve estimation, and mine economics.
