You will develop short-, medium-, and long-term production plans that optimize resource extraction while ensuring safety and compliance. Work with geological data, survey information, and constraints to craft efficient mine layouts and schedules.

The role emphasizes strong analytical skills and practical experience in mine design software, contributing to responsible mining activities in the Soweto region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of mine planning and design experience.
• Proficiency in DESWIK, Vulcan, Surpac or MinePlan software.
• Strong knowledge of mine economics and geotechnical principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans considering geological and economic factors.
• Design mine layouts including pit shapes, access routes, and sequencing for open-pit or underground.
• Perform reserve estimation, planning calculations, and production reconciliation.
• Collaborate with geology, survey, and operations teams to ensure feasible plans.
• Monitor plan execution and adjust for changing conditions.
