Placements24 is seeking a Mine Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations at a major mining facility near Cape Town. The role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a mining context to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of progressive mine maintenance management experience.
• Experience leading large maintenance teams and managing budgets.
• Knowledge of heavy mining equipment and CMMS; familiarity with safety regulations in Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies and schedules for all mining equipment, including heavy machinery, processing plants, and electrical systems.
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and artisans to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Oversee the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources, spare parts inventory, and external service providers.
• Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and operational disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to mine maintenance operations.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in equipment reliability and operational uptime in Cape Town .
