Placements24 is seeking a Mine Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations for a major mining site in Soweto, Gauteng. The role demands strong leadership of artisans, technicians, and planners, and a focus on reliability, safety, and cost control.

You will develop maintenance strategies, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement across preventive, predictive, and corrective programs while aligning with production and procurement teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years in maintenance management within mining/heavy industry; at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Pr. Eng registration desirable.
• Experience managing large maintenance budgets.
• Strong CMMS and asset management knowledge.
• Experience with mining mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of South African mining regulations and safety standards.
• Experience with major capital projects and equipment overhauls.

Aufgaben

• Develop, implement, and manage maintenance strategies for mining equipment, plant, and infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor the maintenance department (artisans, technicians, supervisors, planners).
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ensure reliability and availability of critical mining assets to meet production targets.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies within maintenance.
• Oversee spare parts inventory and procurement for maintenance consumables.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and procurement for seamless support.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
